IMD forecasts rain across India till Aug 14

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across several parts of the country from August 9 to 14.

In North India, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive rainfall, with heavy showers expected in some areas.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in central India may also witness widespread rain, including isolated spells of very heavy rainfall.

In eastern India, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand are likely to experience widespread showers, with heavy rainfall possible in some areas.

In the northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are expected to receive widespread rain, with heavy showers likely in parts of the region.

Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa, along with parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, may also witness rainfall during the period. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely over several regions.
