NewzVille Desk National Investigation Agency officers have been deployed in hyper-sensitive regions of West Bengal to prevent crude bomb threats. Following the recovery of 79 crude bombs and other incriminating materials in the state, the Election Commission has directed the deployment of NIA sleuths to prevent the use of crude bombs to disrupt polling. The NIA officers are stationed in plain clothes in areas marked as hyper-sensitive, based on the records of the 2021 Assembly elections in the state.
