Blocking Amendment Denies Women Their Rightful Representation: Jaishankar

Jaishankar has criticised the opposition for not allowing the passage of the Constitution Amendment Bill, which would effectively implement the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. Dr. Jaishankar said that by blocking the amendment, parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress, DMK and Samajwadi Party have denied women’s legitimate rights to representation in legislatures. Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has criticised the Congress-led opposition for blocking the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.
