Severe weather conditions continue to wreak havoc across several parts of India, with cloudbursts, flash floods, landslides, and swelling rivers disrupting normal life and affecting thousands of people.

As the monsoon intensifies, multiple states are battling widespread destruction, loss of life, and extensive damage to infrastructure.

In Assam, although the flood situation has shown further signs of improvement, it continues to remain critical, with several districts still inundated.

The flood-related death toll has risen to 75. Rescue and relief operations are in full swing, with various teams working round the clock to assist affected residents.

The flood situation also remains grim in Odisha, where three people have lost their lives, while more than 2 lakh people have been affected. Continuous heavy rainfall has triggered flood-like conditions in several parts of the state.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at several places in Odisha until Thursday, keeping authorities on high alert.

In Jammu and Kashmir, authorities in the Doda and Kishtwar districts have ordered the closure of schools as a precautionary measure in view of adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, the India Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for very heavy rainfall across the eastern part of the state over the next few days.

Heavy to very heavy rain is expected at isolated locations in the southeastern and eastern parts of the state, prompting authorities to remain on alert.

As July draws to a close, the south-west monsoon has tightened its grip across large parts of the country.
