US and Japanese forces conducted joint live-fire drills in southern Japan as part of the annual Resolute Dragon military exercise aimed at enhancing bilateral operational readiness.

Around 90 US Marines and 300 personnel from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces took part in the drills on Kyushu island, which featured tanks, reconnaissance drones, armoured vehicles and troop firing exercises.

The 10-day exercise, which began on 20th June, is being led by the US Indo-Pacific Command across Japan’s Kyushu and Ryukyu islands, involving nearly 9,400 personnel from both countries.
