A fresh earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale has been detected off the northern coast of Venezuela.
The tremor struck on Friday, just days after a pair of powerful earthquakes hit the country on Wednesday evening, killing at least 920 people and leaving parts of the capital, Caracas, devastated.
As rescue efforts continued, Venezuelans searched through the rubble in La Guaira amid growing frustration over the limited aid reaching the worst-affected communities.
The government estimated that hundreds of people remained trapped, while more than 50,000 people were still missing.
La Guaira was among the hardest-hit areas, with at least 100 buildings reduced to rubble. Authorities have since restricted access to the state due to emergency conditions.
Hundreds of people displaced by the deadly earthquakes took shelter in Ali Primera Park in western Caracas, where volunteers distributed clothes, shoes, sheets, and other essential supplies.
Many survivors were seen staying in tents set up as temporary relief shelters in the aftermath of the disaster.
