Authorities in Russian-controlled Crimea declared an ’emergency situation’ on Friday as the area is struggling with growing problems caused by Ukrainian drone and missile strikes.
The Moscow-appointed leader of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, said the move is meant to help authorities respond faster and keep essential services working.
Crimea has been facing fuel shortages and power cuts. These problems are linked to Ukrainian attacks on energy and transport infrastructure that supplies the peninsula.
