Heavy rainfall is expected to continue across parts of Northeast India, Bihar and the eastern Himalayan region on Thursday. On the other hand, Delhi is likely to witness light rain and thunderstorm today.

However, according to the Met Department, heatwave conditions are also expected to persist across parts of Central and East India.

The southwest monsoon continues to remain sluggish, with its northern limit unchanged for several days.

The IMD has said that conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to advance into more parts of Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh over the next few days.

Meanwhile, several parts of Rajasthan are likely to witness rain and thunderstorms over the next few days under the influence of a western disturbance.

Met Department said a fresh western disturbance would become active over Northwest India Thursday onwards, and is likely to influence weather conditions in the region.
