IMD forecasts heavy rainfall over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra today

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe today.

Parts of north-east India, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry are also likely to experience rainfall during the day.

The Weather Agency also predicted thunderstorms and lightning today in places over Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal and Sikkim.

Heat wave conditions are expected today in parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Warm night conditions are likely to prevail over Odisha tonight.
