IMD predicts heavy rainfall across several parts of country

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across several parts of the country today. According to the IMD, heavy showers are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim, as well as Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely over parts of northern states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gangetic West Bengal during the day. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather conditions are expected to persist today over parts of Andhra Pradesh.
