Around 1,200 devotees from different parts of the country arrived in Kashmir as part of the Sindhu Darshan Yatra and visited the historic Maharani Shiv Temple in Gulmarg, offering prayers and participating in religious activities.
The pilgrimage assumes significance as organizers describe it as the first Kumbh Mela-linked spiritual yatra to be held in the Kashmir Valley in nearly 36 years.
During their visit to Gulmarg, pilgrims offered prayers at the temple and also explored the renowned tourist destination, appreciating its scenic landscapes and pleasant weather.
Participants expressed enthusiasm about being part of the yatra, noting that devotees from several states have gathered for the spiritual journey. They said the pilgrimage includes visits to various temples across the Valley, providing an opportunity to connect with Kashmir’s rich religious and cultural heritage.
Pilgrims described their visit to Gulmarg as spiritually enriching and said offering prayers at the Shiv Temple was a memorable experience.
They added that after completing their visits to temples across Kashmir, the yatra will continue to Leh and Ladakh, where devotees will undertake further religious visits and sightseeing activities.
The Sindhu Darshan Yatra has brought together devotees from different regions of the country, combining spiritual observance with cultural and tourism-related activities across Jammu and Kashmir.
