IMD forecasts heavy rain across Kerala and several other states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across Kerala until July 2, following a two-week dry spell after the onset of the Southwest Monsoon.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in several districts of Kerala, with warnings set to be expanded to more districts for today. An orange alert for heavy rainfall has also been issued for Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, while several states remain under a yellow alert for rain.

The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning in states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha.
