Smoke were seen rising over hills along the Israel-Lebanon border on Friday, as the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel approaches the two-month mark.
Despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Israel has continued carrying out strikes in Lebanon, while Hezbollah has maintained attacks targeting Israeli troops stationed in Lebanon and areas in northern Israel.
Both sides have accused each other of violating the ceasefire agreement, which was signed by the governments of Israel and Lebanon, though Hezbollah was not a direct signatory to the deal.
The continued hostilities have deepened humanitarian concerns across Lebanon, particularly among the estimated 1.2 million displaced people who had hoped the ceasefire would allow them to return home. Instead, many remain unable to go back to southern regions, facing an uncertain and prolonged displacement.
