The spell of intense heat continues in Rajasthan. Temperatures exceeding 44 degrees Celsius were recorded in nine cities. Over the past 24 hours, the highest temperature—46.4 degrees Celsius—was recorded in Barmer.

Meanwhile, the mercury has also reached 46 degrees in Jaisalmer, disrupting daily life. Due to the scorching sun and heatwaves, markets and streets appear deserted during the day, with people venturing out of their homes only for essential tasks.

However, the Meteorological Department has forecast a change in weather conditions in the coming days, driven by the activation of a Western Disturbance.
