Amid escalating tensions with Iran, sirens blared across Tel Aviv on Monday as missiles were seen crossing overhead. A missile was also spotted over Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump and Israel intensified pressure on Iran to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz or risk attacks on its energy infrastructure.
The ongoing conflict has killed thousands, sparked an energy crisis, and raised fears of long-term global economic damage.
Meanwhile, Fujairah authorities in the UAE confirmed they are responding to an incident involving a drone attack, reportedly from Iran, targeting the Du telecommunications company building. Details on the strike’s impact were not provided.
On Sunday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned that attacks on U.S. economic interests in the region would intensify if strikes on Iranian civilian targets continue.
In a social media post, the Guards stated that the Strait of Hormuz “will never return to its former state,” signalling a stern warning to the United States and Israel.
Despite tensions, vessels have continued to transit the strategic strait. Three Omani-operated tankers, a French container ship, and a Japanese gas carrier have crossed since April 2, reflecting Iran’s policy of allowing passage for vessels it considers friendly.
