Heavy rain lashes today in Delhi-NCR, orange alert issued

Heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Wednesday morning. Medium rain was also reported from Gurugram, while the India Meteorological Department ( IMD) has issued an orange alert for more showers across Delhi throughout the day.

The weather department forecast also indicated that light rain will continue through the week, with conditions expected to remain similar until July 28.

This week, heavy rainfall is expected in the southern parts of India, especially in the regions of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

West and Central India, including Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, may see intense showers till 28 July.

Surface winds reaching 40–50 kmph will likely sweep across South Peninsular India over the next five days. Thunderstorms with lightning are forecast in Bihar, Odisha, and Northeast states, especially Meghalaya, on 23 July.
