India’s BRICS chairship received the support of all participating leaders and focused on delivering concrete and people-centric outcomes.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs Secretary (Economic Relations) and BRICS Sherpa Sudhakar Dalela said the summit brought together BRICS members, partner and outreach countries, and international organisations representing different continents and diverse development journeys.
The declaration adopted at the summit was described as “people-centric” and focused on actionable outcomes rather than remaining merely declaratory.
The MEA said India’s chairship focused on deliverables, highlighting more than 50 concrete outcomes achieved during the year.
Youth and women’s engagement remained among the key priorities of India’s BRICS chairship. Sports was another area that received particular attention during the chairship.
The MEA said the participation of partner and outreach countries, along with international organisations, added to the diversity of the summit and helped bring together countries with different economic and developmental trajectories.
BRICS members also praised India for successfully conducting the summit and for its efforts to strengthen dialogue and cooperation among participating countries.
