US President Donald Trump says he will meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un this year. Trump told reporters that Pyongyang has 57 “very powerful” nuclear weapons, marking the first time he has cited a specific figure for the recalcitrant regime’s nuclear arsenal.
However, North Korea denied any direct communication between leader Kim Jong Un and President Trump, rejecting Trump’s claim of recent contact.
Pyongyang also dismissed Washington’s decision to scale down joint military drills with South Korea, insisting US policy toward the North remains antagonistic.
Trump also said he would likely discuss artificial intelligence with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to the US next month.
He said “We’re ensuring that America remains the undisputed leader not only in Bitcoin and crypto, but also technologies like prediction markets, artificial intelligence and much more. And we’re leading in every single one. And I will tell you, the AI, the artificial intelligence, we’re way ahead of number two. Number two is China. And I never want to underestimate China, but right now we’re way ahead. President Xi is coming on September 24th. We look forward to it. We’ll probably be talking about AI and a lot of other things.”
