Four bodies have been recovered after a devastating avalanche struck Broad Peak, the world’s 12th-highest mountain, in Pakistan’s Karakoram range.
Search and rescue operations are continuing for climbers still missing, including renowned Nepal-born mountaineer and former Royal Marine Nirmal Purja, who was leading a 10-member international expedition.
The team included climbers from Nepal, Pakistan, the United States, China and Oman.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of the recovered bodies as rescue efforts continue amid challenging conditions.
