Russian Government said on Friday that multiple Ukrainian drones heading toward Moscow were intercepted and shot down in a coordinated air defence operation.
Officials said at least 28 drones targeting the Russian capital were destroyed within about an hour, with emergency services deployed to areas where drone debris fell.
Ukraine has stepped up its long-range drone attacks on Russian territory in recent months, increasingly focusing on energy infrastructure.
The latest drone attack comes just days after a Ukrainian strike sparked a major fire at a refinery in southeastern Moscow.
