6.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan

Japan’s northern region was hit by a powerful 6.9-magnitude earthquake on June 25, shaking parts of the country including Tokyo.

Authorities reported no casualties and issued no tsunami warning, while only minor damage was reported in the affected areas.

The quake struck off Iwate prefecture at a depth of 50 kms, leading to temporary disruptions in some bullet train services.

Officials have urged residents to remain alert for possible aftershocks as damage assessments continue.
