US President Donald Trump says he loves India

US President Donald Trump callled US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor for a telephonic conversation, during an event celebrating America’s 250 years of Independence at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi yesterday.

US President described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a friend and stated that ties between the two nations had never been so close.

Trump said, he loves India, and even called himself a “big fan” of PM Modi.

Trump said, India can count on him 100 per cent. The US ambassador held his phone to a microphone for the audience to hear Trump’s remarks.

The event was graced by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Ambassador Sergio Gor.

US President’s remarks came amid Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s four-day visit to India. Rubio met Prime Minister Modi on Saturday, followed by his meetings with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval yesterday.
