Marco Rubio discusses Iran, Situation, Strait of Hormuz with UK & Australia

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held separate calls with his Australian and British counterparts to discuss Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

According to State Department press statement, Marco Rubio spoke with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss Iran and ongoing efforts to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

During his call with Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Penny Wong, Rubio underscored the strength of the U.S.-Australia Alliance and its importance to the security and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific.

They also discussed Iran and ongoing efforts to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
