A Ukrainian drone struck a building in Moscow on Monday, with officials confirming no casualties.
Two other drones approaching the city were intercepted, while airport operations were briefly suspended overnight as a precaution.
The rare strike comes days before Russia’s Victory Day parade, raising security concerns in the capital. The targeted area is about 10 kilometers from the Kremlin.
Meanwhile, a Russian missile strike on the town of Merefa in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region killed six people and wounded more than 30 others including a 2-year-old boy.
Russia has also intensified its attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, striking five facilities operated by state-owned oil company Naftogaz over the past 24 hours.
