J&K: One dead, four injured in cold storage roof collapse in Pulwama

A rooftop of a cold storage facility was collapsed due to strong winds, in Lassipora area of Pulwama on Wednesday, resulting in loss of life and injuries.

According to initial reports, one person lost his life in the incident. The deceased has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Yousuf Mir, a resident of Ruhama Rafiabad, aged around 40 years. He was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Four other individuals sustained injuries in the incident and were immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment, where their condition is being monitored.

Rescue teams and local authorities promptly reached the spot and initiated relief operations. The area was secured while efforts were undertaken to assess the extent of damage caused by the collapse.

Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause and circumstances leading to the mishap.

The administration expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and assured all possible assistance to the injured.
