DGP Y. B. Khurania appeals Maoists to surrender

In the past few days, 77 Maoists have surrendered in the state while 23 have surrendered in Chhattisgarh. In addition, 27 Maoists have been killed, informed Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, while reviewing the Maoist crackdown in Kandhamal district.

After landing at the Reserve Police Camp at Madikunda Chowk, the DGP was welcomed by IG South Nitish Shekhar and SP Harish Tritiyak. After inaugurating the Indoor Sports Complex at the DGP Reserve Police Camp, he interacted with the SOG, DVF and CRPF jawans.

He highly appreciated the bravery of the jawans in the combing operation. He also mentioned that a special search operation is underway to rid Kandhamal and the state of Maoists and appealed to the remaining Maoists to surrender.
