Israel announced it carried out a series of strikes early Monday morning targeting the Yemeni port city of Hodeida and other areas controlled by Houthi rebels.

In an official statement, Israel said its fighter jets had “struck and destroyed terror infrastructure belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime.” The targets included the ports of Hodeida, Ras Isa, Salif, and the Ras Qantib power plant.

The statement added that the strikes were “in response to the repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel.”

The attacks followed shortly—about half an hour—after an Israeli army spokesman warned of the strikes on social media.
