A tragic shooting happened at a school in Graz, Austria, on Tuesday, killing at least 10 people, including the attacker. Several others were severely hurt, police said.
The attacker, who police think acted alone, is dead, but they haven’t shared his name. Some Austrian news reports say he might have been a former student who came to the school and started shooting.
Many injured people were taken to hospitals. Police haven’t said how many of the dead were students, only that “several” were hurt. The school was cleared out, and police have secured the area. They are supporting the families of victims and students affected by this terrible event.
Local Police spokesmen sbri yorgun said, “Early morning, at 10am, we got the alert that several shots were heard in a building in Dreierschützengasse. We started a police operation after this, including with the task force COBRA. At the moment the situation has been secured and no there is no more danger for other civilians. However there were several deaths.”
