One of the largest gatherings of its kind, the ceremony brought together families of 73 ITBP martyrs invited from across the country to honour their loved ones who laid down their lives in the line of duty. A ceremonial salute and Shok Shastra (Reverse Arms) drill were performed in honour of the fallen heroes. A special performance by the ITBP Band filled the atmosphere with solemnity, patriotism and deep reverence. Shatrujeet Kapur, Director General, ITBP, and Smt. Bharati Kapur, Chairperson, Himveer Wives Welfare Association (HWWA), paid floral tributes to the martyrs.

Prior to the ceremony, the DG and the HWWA Chairperson personally interacted with the families of all 73 martyrs present on the occasion. The families were also felicitated in recognition of their extraordinary courage, resilience and sacrifice.

Reaffirming the Force’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of martyrs’ families, the DG assured them that ITBP would stand firmly by their side in every circumstance and continue to extend all possible support and assistance. All the families were also taken on a sightseeing tour of Delhi.
