Home Minister Amit Shah presents the President’s Colour to Goa Police

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah today presented the President’s Colour to the Goa Police in Panaji, the capital of Goa. On the occasion, Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Home Secretary, Chief Secretary of Goa, Director General of Police of Goa, and several other dignitaries were present.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said that it was a matter of pride for him to present the President’s Colour to the Goa Police.

He said that after eight decades of distinguished service, the Goa Police today stands alongside several other police forces of the country, proudly bearing the honour bestowed by the President of India.

Shah said that police forces of the states that have been awarded the President’s Colour have received this prestigious honour for their glorious history, professional excellence, courage, discipline and dedication.

He said that Goa is a small yet extremely important state. With the formation of the state, the Goa Police was entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring a safe city, safe community and secure maritime border.

He said that since the formation of the state, the Goa Police has successfully discharged all three responsibilities and made a significant contribution to national security.
