5 people were killed and 50 injured at a wedding near Sirik, a coastal area on the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian Red Cross reported.
The incident occured as the United States and Iran engaged in the most significant exchange of fire in weeks on Tuesday.
An Iranian news agency said a 4-year-old child was among the dead, while several children were hospitalized.
An unidentified injured man said his party was on its way to the wedding when they heard the sound of a fighter jet, and that the explosion occurred when they arrived at the venue.
The U.S. claims it struck Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps infrastructure, while Iranian media reported strikes on multiple targets near the Strait of Hormuz.
