Marking the completion of 4 years, President Droupadi Murmu launched multiple citizen-centric welfare initiatives at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 28.
Commemorating her tenure that began on July 25, 2022, she inaugurated ‘Kilkari’, a dedicated children’s play zone inside Bachpan Bal Parisar, highlighting her focus on child-centric public engagement.
Additionally, the President launched the third edition of the ‘e-Upahaar’ portal, offering 300 curated Presidential gifts for public auction between August 5-September 5. All proceeds from the auction will support social causes.
President Droupadi Murmu also inaugurated an e-audio guide. This app-based multilingual guide, developed to enhance the experience of visitors to Rashtrapati Bhavan, is available in Hindi, English, and 14 other languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. It also includes sign-language facilities.
Furthering green mobility, President introduced ‘RAAHI’, a fare-free, 27-seater electric bus service with wheelchair accessibility. Operated entirely by women drivers and conductors, this service provides safe and inclusive transit for all estate staff and residents.
President Droupadi Murmu also marked her environmental commitment by planting a tree as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative.
