Lebanon has drawn a firm line on sovereignty. As fresh Israel-Lebanon talks got underway in Washington President Joseph Aoun demanded an end to Israeli occupation in the south and rejected all forms of foreign interference.
Meanwhile, tensions remained high on the ground, with Israeli forces reporting a second confrontation in southern Lebanon after alleged Hezbollah operatives entered a disputed security zone.
In a social media post Israel Defence Forces wrote: “IDF soldiers identified four Hezbollah terrorists, operating under civilian cover, riding a bulldozer and a motorcycle who had crossed into the security zone and approached the soldiers. The soldiers conducted warning fire. After the terrorists continued to approach, additional fire was conducted in order to remove the threat.”
