6.7 Earthquake strikes Palu of Central Indonesia, no damage reported

A 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Indonesia on Tuesday, according to the USGS. Thre is no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

The tremor occurred east-southeast of Palu in Central Sulawesi province earlier in the day, but did not trigger a tsunami warning.

Indonesia, a vast archipelago in Southeast Asia, frequently experiences seismic activity due to its location along the Pacific “Ring of Fire.”
