The National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) conducted the Passing Out Parade of the 39th Batch of Assistant Commandants and the 09th Batch of Sub-Inspectors (Ex-Servicemen) at its campus in Hakimpet, Hyderabad, marking the formal induction of 200 trained officers into the Force’s operational fold.

The ceremony was graced by the august presence of Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Telangana, as Chief Guest, along with Director General, CISF, Praveer Ranjan, including other senior officers of CISF, and state civil and police dignitaries.

Of the 200 officers completing training, 76 were Assistant Commandants — including 5 women officers — selected through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) CAPF (AC) Examination, while 124 Sub-Inspectors (Ex-Servicemen) completed a focused professional development course.

The Dikshant Parade was led by Parade Commander Assistant Commandant Manish Kumar Rai and Parade 2-I/C AC Sushiri Roshni Devi, with the marching contingents displaying exemplary drill and discipline. AC Sumit Lathwal was adjudged All Round Best and conferred the coveted Sword of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Shukla, said: “Today’s parade is an inspiring display of discipline, dedication and professional excellence. CISF has become a strong and reliable pillar of India’s security architecture and a guardian of the nation’s economic progress and public trust. The stars on your shoulders signify not rank alone — they stand for trust, responsibility and unwavering duty. Lead by character, honesty, courage and example.”

DG, Ranjan added: “The discipline and professionalism of this Force is commendable. CISF today secures over 359 locations across the country, and we are committed to building a future-ready, technology-enabled Force capable of meeting every emerging security challenge.”

The Assistant Commandants underwent an intensive 57-week training programme covering Industrial Security Management, Aviation Security, Disaster Management, VIP Security, Urban Operations, Jungle Warfare and Advanced Weapon Handling.

The Sub-Inspector (Ex-Servicemen) batch completed a 21-week course designed to sharpen professional knowledge and operational capabilities. Both programmes were delivered under the Competency-Based Training (CBT) methodology, with emphasis on leadership, decision-making and readiness for complex security environments.

Trained under revised training norms with enhanced focus on technology integration, counter-drone operations, cyber threat response and leadership development, these officers are equipped to sharpen CISF’s capabilities across critical infrastructure protection, aviation security, VIP protection and disaster response.

The induction also meets the requirements of several new units raised in the last one year, and positions the Force to take on expanding responsibilities — including Seaport Security and Jail Security — as CISF’s operational mandate continues to grow.

Nationally recognised for training excellence, NISA has received the Union Home Minister’s Trophy for Best Training Institute twice — in 2017–18 and 2020–21 — among Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and was accredited as a ‘UTKRISHT’ institution under the Capacity Building Commission in 2024.
