Buddha Relics Deepen India-Mongolia Ties: Indian Ambassador to Mangolia

India and Mongolia have strengthened their civilisational and cultural ties through their shared heritage in an unprecedented manner over the last few days.

India’s Ambassador to Mongolia, Atul Malhari Gotsurve, spoke about an initiative that has been making waves in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar.

Speaking about the ongoing relics exposition at the Gandan Monastery, Gotsurve said that Lord Buddha’s two chief disciples, Arahant Sariputta and Arahant Maha Moggallana, are in Mongolia for a ten-day exposition.

He said India and Mongolia are strategic partners and spiritual siblings due to their deep civilisational links through Buddhism.

According to the ambassador, the visit of the holy relics of Lord Buddha’s two chief disciples has further strengthened the bonds of Buddhism between India and Mongolia.
