Assam: Cachar Police seizes heroin worth around ₹1.5 crore

In Assam, Cachar Police seized suspected heroin worth around ₹1.5 crore and arrested two persons during a naka checking operation at Digorkhal under Kalain Police Station.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Rajat Paul, the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs.

A Maruti Baleno travelling towards Kalain was stopped and thoroughly searched at the checkpoint. During the search, police recovered 258 grams of suspected heroin concealed inside 22 soap cases.

Police also seized two mobile phones and the vehicle allegedly used for transporting the contraband.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 27-year-old Ashikur Rahman and 24-year-old Muktar Hussain. Further investigation into the case is underway.
