Chamba Road Accident: Six Tourists Killed In Himachal Pradesh

Six people were killed and four others, including two children, were seriously injured when a vehicle carrying tourists met with an accident in the Bhattiyat subdivision of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. The injured have been admitted to Tanda Medical College.

Among the deceased, five were tourists from Gujarat, while the driver was a resident of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. The accident occurred in the wee hours today on the Kakira–Lahru road.

According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Lalit, his wife Mamta, Priyank, his wife Kajal, and their son Diyansh. The driver has been identified as Jaswant. The group was visiting Himachal Pradesh and was travelling from Manali to Dalhousie.

Superintendent of Police, Chamba, Vijay Saklani, said that it was raining heavily in the area at the time of the accident.

He added that rescue and relief operations were launched immediately after the incident. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
