President Droupadi Murmu today addressed the Assembly of North Macedonia and highlighted the deep historical and civilizational links between India and North Macedonia.
President Murmu said democracy is a shared value that unites both nations and stressed the importance of greater interaction between parliamentarians to exchange best practices in public policy-making.
Earlier in the day, President Murmu and North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova held bilateral talks and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties, with a focus on expanding economic cooperation and enhancing institutional exchanges.
President Droupadi Murmu also laid a wreath at the grave of eminent Macedonian revolutionary Gotse Delchev in Skopje.
Murmu is visiting North Macedonia on the second leg of her three-nation tour of Eastern Europe. The visit is the first-ever by an Indian President to North Macedonia.
