Sanskrit Dept. of Utkal University Celebrates Anniversary with Enthusiasm

The Sanskrit Department of Utkal University celebrated its Anniversary with great enthusiasm on Wednesday. The function was held under the chairmanship of the Head of the Department, Dr. Braja Sundar Mishra. Former Chancellor of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University. Professor Praful Kumar Mishra was the chief guest and former Secretary of Odisha Assembly and retired senior officer of Indian Civil Service, Dasharthi Satapathy, was the keynote speaker at the event.

The chief guest, Professor Mishra, presented his speech on the qualitative excellence of Sanskrit language and literature and the possible future of Sanskrit students.

The keynote speaker,  D Satapathy, highlighted the role of Sanskrit in building good character. Expressing the opinion that the society needs more good people than professional people, he advised the students to be careful in that direction.

Dr. Dharmendra Das, the advisor of the department, read out the annual report and coordinated the celebration. Students who achieved success in various fields were awarded on this occasion and Liza Mohanty, a second-year postgraduate student, received the Sarajanashree title for her outstanding performance.

Finally, Premaprakash Kaur, the editor of the department, proposed the vote of thanks. All the faculty members and students of the department were present on the celebration. A colourful cultural program was also held at the end.
