Political developments are unfolding in Nepal, with Ramchandra Paudel assigning the Home Ministry portfolio to Prime Minister Balendra Shah following the resignation of Home Minister Sudhan Gurung.
Gurung stepped down to ensure an impartial investigation into allegations linked to his reported business ties with a businessman under probe for money laundering.
He said the move was aimed at avoiding any conflict of interest during the inquiry.
This marks the second ministerial exit in the current government. Earlier this month, Prime Minister Shah had removed Labour Minister Deepak Kumar Sah over allegations of misuse of office, following a complaint raised by RSP chief Rabi Lamichhane.
