Legendary Indian Singer Asha Bhosle died today afternoon in Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She was 92. Bhosle was admitted in Saturday due to some health complications.
On Sunday morning her son Anand Bhosle confirmed the demise of the singer.
As per the news, her mortal will be kept at her residence, Casa Grande, Lower Parel on Monday.
Vice President, C. P. Radhakrishnan, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle.
In a message, Radhakrishnan said, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle ji. My heartfelt condolences to her family, admirers, and music lovers.
Asha ji’s versatile voice allowed her to effortlessly transition across genres, mastering soulful ghazals and traditional bhajans, leaving an indelible mark on Indian music.
Her timeless voice and musical legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of millions and inspire generations to come. Om Shanti.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed deep sadness over the passing of Asha Bhosle Ji, acknowledging her as one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known.
The Prime Minister remarked that her extraordinary musical journey, which spanned decades, enriched the nation’s cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world.
Modi noted that whether through her soulful melodies or vibrant compositions, her voice carried a timeless brilliance, adding that he will always cherish the interactions he had with her.
The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to her family, admirers, and music lovers. Shri Modi observed that she will continue to inspire generations and her songs will forever echo in people’s lives.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a condolence message:
