A tragic road accident occurred on Friday in the Dhaliyara area, falling under the jurisdiction of the Dehra Police District in Kangra. While negotiating a sharp turn, a tractor-trolley packed with devotees went out of control and plunged into a gorge approximately 60 feet deep. Three people died on the spot in the accident, while around 15 others are reported to be injured.

According to available information, all the devotees had set out from Kapurthala, Punjab, to seek the blessings of the Goddess. After paying their obeisance at the Mata Chintpurni Temple, they were en route to the Jwalaji Temple. It was during this journey, at a treacherous bend in Dhaliyara, that the driver lost control of the vehicle; the trolley subsequently crashed through the safety barricade and plummeted directly into the gorge.

It is reported that approximately 37 people were on board the tractor-trolley. Following the accident, the scene was filled with cries of distress, and local residents immediately initiated relief and rescue operations. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. The police have registered a case and have commenced an investigation into the causes of the accident.
