ISS 2025 Batch Probationers Visit Odisha for Field Training

A group of five probationers from the 2025 batch of the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) visited Odisha as part of a two-week Field Exposure Training Programme. The probationers are among 31 officer trainees currently undergoing probationary training at the National Statistical Systems Training Academy (NSSTA) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI),GoI.

During their visit from March 30 to April 10, 2026, they were attached to the Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES), Odisha, and also engaged with the RIPAE&S.

As part of their programme, the probationers paid a courtesy visit to the Development Commissioner -cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Odisha, Deoranjan Kumar Singh, on April 9 at the Planning & Convergence Department conference hall. Discussions during the meeting focused on Odisha’s Vision 2036 and 2047, as well as the State’s income dynamics.

Subsequently, the probationers also paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Secretary of Odisha Anu Garg, further enriching their exposure to the administrative framework and development priorities of the State.

During the interaction, Prakash Chandra Mohanty and Pradumna Mahakud, Additional Secretaries to the Government in the Planning & Convergence Department, briefed the probationers on the roles, functions, and ongoing schemes of the department.
