Assembly Elections: Voting underway in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry

Voting underway from 7 AM today in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry for the state assembly polls as eligible voters are coming out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. Election Commission has arranged accordingly for free and free elections in polling booths.

In Kerala, over 27 million electors will decide the fate of 883 candidates across 140 constituencies.

In Assam, more than 25 million electors are eligible to exercise their franchise for the 126-member Legislative Assembly. There are 722 candidates in the fray.

In Puducherry, 10,14,070 electors are eligible to cast their votes to elect a 30-member Legislative Assembly.

The counting will be held on 4 May, 2026.
