The festival of Navratri was celebrated with great pomp and reverence in ‘Chhoti Kashi’ (Little Kashi)—Mandi. To mark the conclusion of the festivities, a magnificent ‘Maha Aarti’ was organized at the ancient Siddhakali Temple, where the lighting of 2,100 lamps within the temple premises created a deeply spiritual and devotional atmosphere.
Temple priest Jagdish Sharma stated that, true to tradition, the worship of Goddess Siddhakali was conducted with full rituals and rites throughout the Navratri period this year as well, and special adornments were applied to the deity every day.
On the day of Ram Navami, a ‘Havan-Yajna’ (sacred fire ritual) was organized at the temple; a large number of devotees participated in the ceremony, offering the final oblations (Purnahuti) and praying for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of their families.
To conclude the Navratri celebrations, a ‘Kanya Pujan’ (worship of young girls) and a ‘Bhandara’ (community feast) were held within the temple premises, where the Goddess’s ‘Prasad’ (sacred food offering) was distributed among the devotees.
