The unprecedented crisis affecting global energy markets has forced countries around the world to take drastic steps to conserve fuel and keep their economies running amid West Asia crisis.

In Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday declared a state of national energy emergency in response to the West Asia conflict.

He described the situation as an “imminent danger” to the country’s energy supply.

Marcos also said that a committee has been formed to ensure the smooth movement, supply, distribution and availability of fuel, food, medicines, agricultural products and other essential goods.
