Countries across the region are facing with crippling shortages of oil and gas and are taking urgent measures to address the crisis.

In Bangladesh, petrol pump owners have warned that filling stations across the country could shut down at any moment due to a severe fuel shortage.

The Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners’ Association, in a statement issued on Sunday, termed the situation “extremely dire”, stating that the daily fuel supply from oil companies is significantly lower than demand.

As a result, long queues have formed at the limited number of operational stations, while many pumps in Dhaka and other areas remain closed.
