Gulf states are on high alert after overnight missile and drone attacks. Emirati and Kuwaiti air defences are confronting “hostile missile and drone attacks” since early Friday.

The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority has warned people to remain in a safe location as air defence systems are currently responding to the threat of a missile attack.

Elsewhere in the Gulf, Bahrain’s interior ministry said air raid sirens were activated, and Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry said it had intercepted a drone in the country’s east.
