Russia in Close Contact with Iran; Moscow stresses to support peace initiatives

The Kremlin said on Wednesday that Russia is maintaining close contact with Iran’s leadership and stands ready to assist in efforts to stabilize the Middle East.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed Moscow’s commitment to supporting peace initiatives in the region.

In recent days, President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have engaged in talks with their Iranian counterparts.

While, Putin also held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, underscoring Russia’s active diplomatic outreach.
