“First time dedicated funds have been allocated to act on their prioritized projects”, said Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma while speaking at the Planning & Programme Implementation Committee Room in Aizawl today. He identified the initiative as a key component of the government’s flagship ‘Bana Kaih’ scheme.
“We are committed to empowering districts by enabling them to formulate their own development plans and providing the necessary financial support,” Lalduhoma stated.
The funds, provided under Component 5 of the Decentralised Plan, were handed over to the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) via bank cheques.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the DCs hold substantial authority in this initiative and noted that future funding would depend on the efficient utilization of this initial allocation.
Accepting the funds on behalf of the districts, Aizawl Deputy Commissioner Er. Lalhriatpuia expressed gratitude for the government’s support, promising that projects would align with the Mizoram District Transformation Programme.
